Umsetzung und Potenziale des Konzepts "Einwanderungsgeschichte" im Zensus 2022

Abstract

Die Erfassung der Einwanderungsgeschichte im Zensus 2022 in Deutschland basiert erstmals vollständig auf Registerdaten. Dieser Ansatz ermöglicht eine kontinuierliche Erhebung ohne die Bevölkerung zu befragen. Dabei zeigte sich, dass die Registerdaten für die Typisierung der Einwanderungsgeschichte, insbesondere bei der Nachkommenschaft von Eingewanderten, unvollständig sind. Vergleiche mit dem Mikrozensus belegen, dass die Zensusergebnisse im Gegensatz zur Bevölkerungszahl und zur Nationalität das abgeleitete Merkmal "Nachkommen von Eingewanderten" systematisch unterschätzen, was zu analytischen Herausforderungen führt. Der Zensus bietet im Gegenzug einen klaren Mehrwert durch seine kleinräumige Gliederung und ermöglicht so räumlich differenzierte Analysen der Verteilung von Einwanderergruppen.
