Projektabschluss "Nationales Tierwohl-Monitoring" – Grundlagen für eine objektive Berichterstattung über die Tierwohlsituation in der Nutztierhaltung

Abstract

Es gibt bislang keine umfassende Berichterstattung über das Tierwohl in der landwirtschaftlichen Nutztierhaltung in Deutschland. Um dies zu ändern, hat das Bundesministerium für Ernährung und Landwirtschaft ein Konsortium aus zehn Institutionen beauftragt, ein Konzept für die Durchführung eines nationalen Tierwohl-Monitorings zu entwickeln. In diesem Projekt "Nationales Tierwohl-Monitoring" hat das Statistische Bundesamt die Nutzbarkeit bestehender (amtlicher) Daten untersucht sowie geprüft, ob es möglich ist, neue tierwohlrelevante Daten mithilfe einer freiwilligen Erhebung nach §7 Absatz 2 Bundesstatistikgesetz zu erheben. Der in diesem Beitrag beschriebene Monitoring-Ansatz verfolgt das Ziel, die Tierwohl-Situation in landwirtschaftlichen Betrieben, Aquakulturbetrieben, Schlachtbetrieben und auf Kontroll- und Sammelstellen abzubilden.
