Eine informationelle Infrastruktur in Deutschland ist erwachsen – das Forschungsdatenzentrum des Statistischen Bundesamtes

Abstract

Die informationelle Infrastruktur in Deutschland hat sich seit Ende der 1990er-Jahre beträchtlich fortentwickelt, wenngleich zuletzt die Coronakrise gezeigt hat, dass sie noch erhebliche Defizite aufweist. Die Erkenntnis, dass Einzeldaten einen Wert haben, und die Nachfrage der empirischen Forschung nach amtlichen Mikrodaten führten im Jahr 2001 zur Einrichtung des Forschungsdatenzentrums des Statistischen Bundesamtes. Der Beitrag zeichnet dessen Entwicklung in den letzten gut 20 Jahren nach und erläutert das künftig vorgesehene Remote-Access-System, das Datennutzenden einen verbesserten Datenzugang bieten wird.
