Abstract

Die Fußballweltmeisterschaft 2006 wird in den Medien und von der Politik als wirtschaftlich erfolgreich dargestellt. Inwieweit schlug sich die WM in den Übernachtungszahlen nieder und wie wirkte sie sich auf den Einzelhandel aus? Hatte sie messbare Beschäftigungswirkungen? Wie ist der Bau von neuen Stadien ökonomisch zu bewerten? Konnte das Image Deutschlands in der Welt verbessert werden?
