Wirtschaftliche Folgen eines beschleunigten Kernenergieausstiegs in Deutschland

Abstract

Der Reaktorunfall in Japan im März 2011 hat die Diskussion in Deutschland um die Risiken der Kernenergie und die weitere Nutzung erneut entfacht. Nachdem mit dem Energiekonzept der Bundesregierung 2010 eine Verlängerung der Laufzeiten beschlossen wurde, verhängte die Regierung nach dem japanischen Unglück zunächst ein Moratorium von drei Monaten, und sie hat im Juni den Ausstieg aus der Kernkraft bis zum Jahr 2022 beschlossen. Dieser beschleunigte Ausstieg ist mit erheblichen wirtschaftlichen Konsequenzen verbunden. Erneuerbare Energien können die wegfallenden Kapazitäten kurz- und mittelfristig nicht ersetzen. Kurzfristig können in Deutschland nur Gas- und Kohlekraftwerke verstärkt genutzt werden. Dadurch erhöhen sich die Kosten der Stromerzeugung um rund 55 Milliarden Euro. Fast 90 Prozent der Umweltexperten der deutschen Wirtschaft rechnen mit höheren Strompreisen als Folge der verkürzten Laufzeit der deutschen Kernkraftwerke.
