Rohstoffpreise: Entwicklung und Bedeutung für die deutsche Wirtschaft

Abstract

Eine IW-Befragung zeigt, dass die deutschen Unternehmen in steigenden und stark schwankenden Preisen ein wesentliches Rohstoffrisiko sehen. Die Preise für Rohstoffe sind zuletzt wieder deutlich angestiegen. Dies trifft besonders für wichtige Industrie-metalle wie Kupfer oder Eisen zu. Gemäß dem vom Institut der deutschen Wirtschaft entwickelten Industriemetallpreis-Index (IMP-Index) erreichten die Preise im ersten Quartal 2011 einen neuen Rekordwert, der um ein Viertel über dem bisherigen Höchststand der Boomjahre 2007 und 2008 liegt. Setzen sich die Preistrends, die im Zeitraum 2001 bis 2010 zu beobachten waren, in den nächsten Jahren fort, dann werden die Importkosten für Industriemetalle im Jahr 2015 um 70 bis 100 Prozent über dem durchschnittlichen Wert der Jahre 2008 bis 2010 liegen.
