Die forschenden Pharma-Unternehmen im Konjunkturverlauf

Abstract

Die Pharmaindustrie im Allgemeinen und vor allem die Gruppe der forschenden Pharma-Unternehmen zeigen im aktuellen Konjunkturverlauf eine stabilere wirtschaftliche Entwicklung im Vergleich zu anderen Branchen, zum Beispiel der Chemischen Industrie. Sowohl bei der Produktion als auch beim Auslandsumsatz sind die Rückgänge deutlich schwächer ausgefallen als in den betrachteten Referenzbranchen. Im letzten konjunkturellen Abschwung weist die Pharmaindustrie jedoch einen deutlichen Beschäftigungsrückgang auf, der mit Sondereinflüssen zu erklären ist. In einer längerfristigen Betrachtung zeigen Pharmaindustrie und forschende Pharma-Unternehmen eine deutlich positivere Beschäftigungs- und Produktionsentwicklung. Allerdings stehen die Ergebnisse unter dem Vorbehalt, dass die amtliche Statistik nicht nur konsistente Zeitreihen liefert und verbandsinterne Datenerhebungen nicht immer mit der amtlichen Statistik verknüpfbar sind.
