Alterung in deutschen Großstädten – internationalisiert

Abstract

Die Autorinnen thematisieren Strukturen und Trends der demographischen Entwicklung im innerstädtischen kleinräumigen Kontext deutscher Großstädte. Die sind das hauptsächliche Ziel internationaler Migration, so dass insbesondere in größeren Städten vergleichsweise mehr Menschen ohne deutsche Staatsangehörigkeit leben. Das bedeutet für diese Kommunen erhöhte Integrationserfordernisse und bietet zugleich ein großes Spektrum an Potenzialen. Die Zugewanderten bringen nicht nur andere Qualifikationen und Kenntnisse mit, vor allem sind sie deutlich jünger als die lange ansässige deutsche Stadtbevölkerung.
