Abstract

Unter dem Begriff der staatlichen bzw. öffentlichen "Daseinsvorsorge" wird in Politik und Gesellschaftswissenschaften üblicherweise verstanden, dass der Staat sicherstellt, dass der Bevölkerung eines Gemeinwesens bestimmte Güter und Dienstleistungen zur Verfügung stehen, die für das menschliche Dasein notwendig sind. Dieser Beitrag zeigt, dass jedoch – jenseits dieser Basisdefinition – im politischen, öffentlichen und wissenschaftlichen Staatsaufgaben-Diskurs umstritten ist, welche Güter und Dienstleistungen (und in welcher Menge und Qualität) in den staatlichen "Daseinsvorsorgeleistungskatalog" gehören. Zudem wird in diesem Diskurs auch darüber diskutiert, inwieweit private Akteure in die Produktion und Finanzierung dieses Katalogs eingebunden werden sollten.
