Abstract

This ongoing work is currently exploring the impact of Big Data on corporate law with a particular focus on mergers, corporate governance, and strategic alliances. Its significance lies in the increasing influence of data on corporate decision-making and the impact on corporate law. The work objectives encompass an in-depth analysis of how companies are currently leveraging Big Data in these three specific domains, along with an examination of the associated legal and ethical challenges. The research methodology being employed includes an ongoing review of relevant literature, ongoing analysis of pertinent cases, and continuous monitoring of Ecuadorian regulations.Preliminary findings are already shedding light on the pivotal role that data plays in optimizing mergers and acquisitions, enhancing corporate governance practices, and facilitating informed strategic decisions in the realm of strategic alliances. Furthermore, ongoing investigations have unearthed legal hurdles related to data privacy and underscore the pressing need for well-defined regulatory frameworks. In summary, as this study unfolds, it is becoming increasingly evident that Big Data is effecting a profound transformation in the landscape of corporate law in Ecuador by providing invaluable data-driven insights for informed decision-making. It is an ongoing endeavor that underscores the paramount importance of robust regulation and ethical considerations in the utilization of corporate data.
