Abstract

Sections characteristic of the slope deposits of northern Aquitaine are reported and discussed. In the western area, in Charente, grèzes litées are the result of solifluction processes. To the east, in Périgord, facies are more diversified and are related to varied dynamic processes: solifluction lobes, plug‐like flow, rockfalls, grain flows, debris flows and mud flows. These differences can be explained by the more diversified parent rock and the more contrasted topography in Périgord.
