Abstract

Polish bilateral development aid program for Afghanistan is perceived as an integral part of international efforts to rebuild the war‐torn country. It was focused on Ghazni province in South Eastern part of Afghanistan, where a Polish part of a local Provincial Reconstruction Team was established in 2008. This paper analyses the outputs and challenges of the Polish Development Program for Ghazni province. Based on a field research, it shows that Polish development aid program for Ghazni was not well thought out in the then and current development and security situation. Research results indicated that Polish development aid in Ghazni had some major weaknesses, and in fact, it was contributing mainly to the infrastructure development in the province capital.
