Abstract

The UK has for some time been considered one of Europe's leading advocates for carbon capture and storage (CCS). But a sudden and somewhat unexpected announcement by the UK government that £1 billion of funding for a CCS competition was no longer available has left many people around the world wondering if CCS in the UK or indeed in Europe, has a future. Muriel Cozier rounds up reactions to the announcement. © 2016 Society of Chemical Industry and John Wiley & Sons, Ltd
