Entry, Age and Sectoral Specialisation of Viennese Firms

Author

Listed:
  • Michael Peneder

Abstract

In addition to the ongoing processes of growth and change within existing enterprises, the entry of new firms is a major driving force of the continuous regeneration of an economic location's technological, managerial and entrepreneurial resources. This paper provides an up-to-date survey of the stylised facts pertaining to selected aspects of firm entries based on data for Vienna. The data set consists of a special query of the commercial register compiled by the Austrian "Kreditschutzverband von 1870" (KSV).
