Digitalisierung in der österreichischen Landwirtschaft. Ein Überblick zu vorliegenden Befunden und Herausforderungen

Abstract

In der EU-Agrarpolitik gilt Digitalisierung als ein wichtiges Vehikel, um die Innovationskraft und Produktivität der Landwirtschaft zu erhöhen. Während die internationale Literatur Rückschlüsse darauf erlaubt, in welchem Umfang digitale Technologien in der Volkswirtschaft insgesamt und im Speziellen im Agrarsektor eingesetzt werden, gibt es zur österreichischen Landwirtschaft vergleichsweise wenige einschlägige Untersuchungen. Dieser Beitrag stellt die Ergebnisse zweier empirischer Erhebungen vor, die einen Überblick zur Verbreitung digitaler Methoden und Technologien in Österreichs Landwirtschaft geben und die Vorteile und Hemmnisse ihrer Anwendung untersuchen. Angesichts der Bedeutung der Digitalisierung für Produktivität und Umweltschutz sollte dem laufenden Monitoring mehr Beachtung geschenkt werden.
