Wirtschaftsentwicklung im III. Quartal von Nachholeffekten geprägt

Abstract

Die Dynamik der Weltwirtschaft ist nach wie vor von der COVID-19-Pandemie und den zu ihrer Eindämmung gesetzten Maßnahmen bestimmt. Nach dem BIP-Einbruch in den USA und im Euro-Raum im II. Quartal wurde im III. Quartal ein Rebound verzeichnet. Die Vertrauensindikatoren liegen weiterhin auf niedrigem Niveau, signalisieren jedoch Erholungstendenzen in der Industrie. Auch in Österreich wuchs die Wirtschaftsleistung im III. Quartal 2020 deutlich. Nachholeffekte schlugen sich besonders in einem Anstieg des Konsums der privaten Haushalte und der Wertschöpfung der Dienstleister nieder. Der Beschäftigungsabbau verlangsamte sich, betrug im Oktober aber nach vorläufigen Zahlen immer noch 1% gegenüber dem Vorjahr. Die Inflation erhöhte sich im September leicht.
