85 Jahre WIFO: Die Publikationstätigkeit

Abstract

Schon in seinen ersten Jahren publizierte das WIFO für die theoretische und empirische Wirtschaftsforschung maßgebende Arbeiten einiger der renommiertesten Ökonomen der damaligen Zeit. Mit den WIFO-Monatsberichten führte Friedrich A. von Hayek als erster Leiter des Institutes bereits 1927 eine Form der Konjunkturberichterstattung ein, auf deren Tradition und Kontinuität das heutige Österreichische Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung weiter aufbaut. Analysen wirtschaftspolitisch relevanter Themen auf Grundlage der neuesten Methoden und der bestverfügbaren Daten sind damals wie heute Inhalt der WIFO-Publikationen. Entsprechend dem in den Statuten verankerten Auftrag macht das WIFO seine Forschungsergebnisse über ein breites Spektrum an Publikationen einer ökonomisch interessierten Öffentlichkeit zugänglich.
