Verdienstentgang von Frauen mit Kindern

Abstract

Frauen büßen einen erheblichen Teil ihres hypothetischen Einkommens ein, sobald sie Kinder haben. Bis das jüngste Kind erwachsen ist, erreicht dieser Verdienstentgang in Österreich rund 103.000 € bis 136.000 €, falls die Frau wieder erwerbstätig ist. Beendet eine Frau allerdings ihre Berufslaufbahn mit der Geburt des ersten Kindes, so verliert sie mehr als 200.000 €. Das Ausmaß des Verdienstausfalls ist geringer, wenn die Unterbrechung der Beschäftigung möglichst kurz ist. Deren Länge hängt u. a. von den Transferleistungsregelungen für Eltern von Kleinkindern ab. Die Ausweitung der Teilzeitbeschäftigungsmöglichkeiten in den letzten Jahren trug dazu bei, dass die Unterbrechungen kürzer werden und der Einkommensausfall von Frauen mit Kindern im Kindergartenalter sinkt.
