Österreichs Wirtschaft vorbereitet für die Teilnahme an der WWU. Mittelfristige Prognose der österreichischen Wirtschaft bis zum Jahr 2002

Abstract

Im Zeitraum 1997/2002 wird das österreichische Bruttoinlandsprodukt real um durchschnittlich 2¾% pro Jahr zunehmen. Dank der gestärkten außenwirtschaftlichen Wettbewerbsposition werden sich die Exporte weiterhin dynamisch entwickeln, und die Außenwirtschaft dürfte einen positiven Beitrag zum Wachstum liefern. Die inländische Nachfrage wird im Prognosezeitraum vom kräftiger wachsenden privaten Konsum getragen (durchschnittlich +2% real pro Jahr). Mit der Entwicklung der verfügbaren Realeinkommen der privaten Haushalte wird sich die Sparquote wieder ihrem längerfristigen Gleichgewichtswert nähern. Die Bruttoanlageinvestitionen werden bis 2002 etwa doppelt so rasch steigen wie im Zeitraum 1991/1997; die Dynamik geht dabei von den Ausrüstungsinvestitionen und nicht von den Bauinvestitionen aus. Infolge der Produktionssteigerung und der Auswirkungen der Maßnahmen gemäß dem Nationalen Aktionsplan für Beschäftigung könnte die Beschäftigung ausgeweitet werden, und die Arbeitslosenquote bis zum Ende der Prognoseperiode leicht zurückgehen.
