Abstract

This article explores the innovative application of facility management at "Muzeiko" – a unique example in Bulgarian museum practice. As the only museum in the country to integrate this modern approach, "Muzeiko" demonstrates significant improvements in its operational efficiency and overall visitor experience. The article analyzes key aspects of facility management within the museum, including strategic space management, ensuring optimal resource utilization and guest comfort. The maintenance of the building stock and equipment, guaranteeing safety and durability, is also examined. Special attention is paid to energy efficiency, which contributes to reducing the museum's environmental footprint and optimizing costs. Security measures, ensuring the protection of visitors and exhibits, as well as the amenities provided, which enhance audience satisfaction, are also analyzed. Through specific examples and an analysis of effective practices, the article demonstrates how modern technologies and strategic facility management improve "Muzeiko's" functioning. It serves as a successful model for other cultural institutions in Bulgaria and the region, demonstrating the benefits of professional facility management for the sustainable development and successful management of museums in the modern world.
