Environmental Aspects Of Socially Responsible Business Practices And Their Role For Raising Competitiveness

Abstract

One of the main issues, on which there are focused the efforts of various international organizations, research groups, scientists and practitioners in the sphere of corporate social responsibility, is that of environmental protection. It is present as an element in the requirements and criteria on good practices of all recognized international organizations, standards, stock indexes and initiatives for reporting the social responsibility of business and the social audit. In the article the environmental socially responsible practices are characterized as a means for raising competitiveness. There are compared the findings of national surveys and our own survey of the adoption and the application of environmentally responsible practices on the part of Bulgar ian businesses. On that basis there are outlined guidelines for their future application in organizations as a means for raising their competitiveness.
