Abstract

In the article there are discussed some issues concerning structural groupings in the wine sector. There are studied models of spatial concentration and integration of wine industries in the world. There is an emphasis on the globa l rivalry between the conventional understanding of spatial concentration and integration in the wine sector represented by the local production systems and the terroir, with the new network and cluster models. Based on an analysis of the wine industry pot ential in this country and the possibilities for concentration in the sector there is put forward a model for the introduction and development of a cluster of an innovative type. There have been studied the potential participants included in the grouping a nd the relations between them, which can lead to raising the competitiveness of the Bulgarian wine sector. There is proposed a policy for joint action in the cluster.
