Urban Agriculture For Sustainable Development In The Cities

Abstract

The purpose of the paper is based on the evaluation of the effects of urban agriculture to beprepared conclusions about the possibilities of this type of activity for achievement of sustainable urban development.The first part of thepaper presents a literary review of the effects of urban agriculture. Author's views on the economic, social, environmental, educational and other aspects of urban agriculture in the context of sustainability are presented. The methodological framework of the study includes: 1. Literature review of the effects of urban agriculture 2) Assessment of the effects of the implementation of urban farming practices 3) Potential of urban agriculture to achieve sustainability in the cities. The analytical part of the report contains an analysis and evaluation of the economic, social, environmental and other aspects of urban agriculture. On the basis of the analytical part of the report are made conclusions for the opportunities of urban agriculture for achieving sustainable urban development.
