Abstract

Agricultural commodities, whether produced domestically or imported from third countries, are elements of the many interrelated, interdependent and interacting elements that make up the food chain. The need to manage and control the safety of marketed commodities is a major task of various government agencies and institutions to ensure compliance with requirements as a guarantee of safe food. The aim of this study is to present the importance of the control exercised by the customs administration in the importation of goods by analyzing the notifications registered as import bans for different types of goods. In this study, methods of analysis and synthesis were used, and the results obtained can be useful for business operators whose activities are related to the entry and control of goods posing a risk to human health.
