Abstract

Humanity faces major challenges in agriculture. The climate is changing, the world's population is growing rapidly, cities are expanding, and soils are becoming more degraded. Given the urgent need to reduce global hunger and the need to provide the population with environmentally friendly food products, understanding and achieving sustainable soil management has never been more important. Scientific studies show that over 60% of European soils are not in good condition. Land and soil continue to be subject to severe processes of degradation, erosion, compaction, sealing, pollution, loss of biological diversity, etc. At the same time, this is combined with the excessive use of fertilizers and pesticides in agriculture, as well as unsustainable land management and use, which leads to a negative impact on soil qualities.
