The Bulgarian Film Production: Problems, Trends and Alternatives

Abstract

The article presents the results of a study of the film production development in Bulgaria since its creation until now and its stages have been formulated. The main problems and trends of the contemporary Bulgarian film production are formulated on the basis of the peculiarities of the Bulgarian film market and its participants. Some appropriate alternatives for its development are indicated on the basis of foreign experience in the field. A steady trend towards the rise of Bulgarian film production has been established. In the study are applied the methods of historical and statistical analysis and synthesis. The history of Bulgarian cinema and the specialized literature on the management of the film industry have been studied.
