Dynamic Capabilities Concept in the Case of the Tourism Companies

Abstract

The paper aims to examine the significant role and meaning of the dynamic capabilities concept and its implications in the tourism industry in Bulgaria. Dynamic capabilities of organizations reveal organizational skills for achieving innovative forms of competitive advantages for sustaining competitive market positions. The development of dynamic capabilities reflects management's ability to demonstrate timely responsiveness and rapid innovation and to effectively coordinate and redeploy internal and external resources or competencies based on managerial and organizational processes, market positions, and path dependencies. Òhe key contributions of the paper are the applications of the dynamic capabilities theoretical concepts to the reality of the tourism industry in Bulgaria.
