Trade Openness - the Role of GDP and Economic Growth

Abstract

This article is dedicated to the trade openness and its dependence on GDP and economic growth. The research approach of the author is based on review of the existing literature with concrete examples to date. The purpose of this article is to demonstrate the existing positive relationship of trade openness of the economy with GDP and economic growth. Some experts have criticized this approach, citing examples of negative or non-existent relationship. Their studies are not analyzed in this article.
