Abstract

Nowadays, in the hotel and restaurant businesses as major economic activities the role of the logistics for increasing the competitiveness of the organization in the present market conditions becomes more and more important. In connection with the strategic importance of the logistics it is observed the trend to appoint managers at a supreme management level for the purposes of logistics management. This process is accompanied by changes in the organizational management structure of the companies, rediscovering the role of the logistics, realizing the need of knowledge and skills of the personnel in the logistics area, giving priority to the logistics that is in line with the business strategy of the organization, applying new management practices, etc. The purpose of this report is to present the results of applying the logistics concept in the management of a group of hotels, situated on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, which have accepted and applied the logistics approach/concept/.
