Yamal from nowadays to the future: frontiers of modernization

Abstract

The paper presents the author's assessment of the socio-economic status of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District. The risks of social and economic development are identified and ranked. The competitive advantages of the strategic district development in the formation and development of human potential are highlighted, as well as the development of oil and gas industry. The periodization of Yamal formation as the country's gas capital is held. An author's projection on the directions of industrial development in the region is made.
