Abstract

Le contraste des évolutions du taux de chômage au sein de l’Europe, et tout particulièrement entre l’Allemagne et la France, constitue un sujet majeur de discussion pour les experts comme pour les gouvernements et les citoyens. Le but de cet article est double : montrer la difficulté des comparaisons statistiques internationales et souligner l’importance du choix de la période étudiée pour bien rendre compte d’un phénomène ; et évoquer les interprétations possibles de cette situation pour contribuer à la réflexion sur les politiques économiques.
