Abstract

Ecuador is opening the way to large-scale mining, which is why this research aims to analyze the production of copper concentrate in the Amazon province of Zamora Chinchipe, specifically through the operation of the Mirador Mining Project. Current legislation estimates the benefits to the company, the country and the local community. The results show that, in the project’s area of influence, 55% of the profits go to the country and 45% to the multinational company. It is important to note that of this percentage, only 24% of the profits remain in the exploitation area, the rest are invested in the country.
