Abstract

Since 1993 it has been proposed that countries develop complementary accounts to central system, called satellite accounts, in order to overcome the rigidity of the central framework of the System of National Accounts (SNA). This research aims to develop a model of agrofood industry satellite account for Venezuela, by using a matrix method which involves a significant number of monetary and non-monetary indicators that are specific to the agrofood industry sector linking them with the information from the central framework of the SNA. The creation of this system will be allowed to perform more complex studies. Thus, an additional tool for analysis within the range of tool options that manage economic policy makers shall be provided.
