Venezuela in between the G-3 and MERCOSUR

Abstract

La integración económica latinoamericana surge, con gran dinamismo, en la década de los ochenta, en un contexto económico internacional y nacional bien distinto del pasado. Mientras que antes predominó la estrategia de sustitución de importaciones, en el presente los países latinoamericanos se orientan hacia la privatización de sus economías, la desregulación, la apertura; todo esto en un marco de globalización creciente. Se plantean retos y oportunidades a los que dirigen estas sociedades dentro de los esquemas de integración que hasta el presente se han formado o están por crearse en América Latina y el Caribe, dentro de una concepción de regionalismo abierto.
