The Andean sub-regional integration: A strategy against the new world economic order

Abstract

Las transformaciones de la economía global, durante la década del ochenta y principios de los años noventa, han dejado eventualmente al margen del sistema económico mundial a muchos países de América Latina y el Caribe, frente a lo cual éstos buscan alternativas que permitan su inserción favorable dentro del nuevo orden económico internacional. Este trabajo intenta abordar la integración económica subregional, concretamente del Grupo Andino, como estrategia válida ante los cambios globales que determinan la nueva dinámica económica a nivel internacional. Específicamente, las condiciones en que está avanzando el proceso integracionista andino y en las que debe avanzar para lograr el objetivo de insertar en forma ventajosa las economías de sus países miembros al nuevo esquema económico mundial.
