Richard Cantillon or the land owners’ responsibility in the economic movement of society

Abstract

En el ensayo sobre la Naturaleza del Comercio en General, obra publicada en 1755 bajo la autoría intelectual de Richard Cantillon, se expone por primera vez, al decir de respetables autores como Jevons y Schumpeter, la compresión de la Economía Política como un todo. En efecto, partiendo del trabajo del hombre como forma de producirla, Cantillon irá hilvanando su razonamiento para explicar la formación de los precios de las “cosas” en el mercado: su distribución entre quienes contribuyen a crearla; la responsabilidad de los propietarios de las tierras en el giro económico de la sociedad y la política económica -mercantilista- que debe adoptar el Estado para incrementar su grandeza relativa. Exponer en síntesis el pensamiento económico de Cantillon en la obra mencionada: he allí el objetivo que me propongo en este trabajo.
