Venezuela public debt: 1979-1989

Abstract

Desde los inicios de la década de los 80, los países latinoamericanos, y Venezuela no escapa a esta realidad, vienen enfrentando el problema de la deuda externa, con los consiguientes efectos de una mayor contracción económica, disminución del ingreso, elevadas tasas de inflación y desempleo, tensiones políticas y desajustes sociales. Los objetivos del presente estudio están dirigidos hacia el análisis de la evolución del la deuda pública venezolana para el período 1979-88 y la exposición de algunas líneas de acción que Venezuela debería seguir en relación con el problema de la deuda externa.
