Abstract

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menguji impak harga minyak sawit ke atas pertumbuhan sektor pertanian. Dengan menggunakan data suku tahunan Malaysia bermula dari Q1:1992 sehingga Q3:2019, kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan lat tertabur autoregresif untuk memenuhi objektif kajian. Kajian ini mendapati harga minyak sawit mempunyai impak positif ke atas pertumbuhan sektor pertanian sama ada dalam jangka panjang atau jangka pendek. Dapatan kajian ini turut mendapati wujud hubungan jangka panjang dan jangka pendek antara keluaran sektor pertanian dengan harga minyak sawit, indeks harga pengguna dan kadar pertukaran efektif benar. Dalam jangka masa panjang, harga minyak sawit dan kadar pertukaran efektif benar telah berhubungan secara positif dan signifikan kepada keluaran sektor pertanian. Sebaliknya pemboleh ubah indeks harga pengguna telah berhubung secara negatif dan signifikan dengan keluaran sektor pertanian. Manakala dalam jangka masa pendek, kesemua pemboleh ubah tak bersandar menunjukkan hubungan yang positif dengan pemboleh ubah bersandar iaitu keluaran sektor pertanian. Penemuan empirikal kajian ini dapat menyediakan maklumat kepada penggubal dasar mengenai impak positif perubahan harga sawit kepada aktiviti ekonomi bagi memastikan semua pemegang taruh dalam sektor ini mendapat manfaat sewajarnya.
