Abstract

This article analyses the prerequisites of the formation and development of innovation clusters in the regions. The author developed the methodology for calculating the coefficient of clustering. It is proposed the variety of types of programs of regional innovation and cluster policy to support innovation or the formation of cluster structures. In the condition of market globalization, rapid rise of the leading manufacturing sectors should be carried on the socio-integrated systems basis. Clusters are one of the most important instruments of regional development. In fact, clustering is the only effective mechanism achieving the competitiveness of the regional economy that can resist the negative impact of global change in the condition of globalization of society. In addition, the clusters are combination of competition and cooperation. Thus, the union in some areas help to succeed in the competition in others. For Ukraine, this is the perfect way of building innovation-oriented economy.
