Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to determine the influence of IPM, Gini Ratio, TPT and Minimum Wage on the number of poor people in Yogyakarta Special Region Province.Methods – This study uses a panel data model that combines time series data for 2014-2023 and cross-section data in 5 districts/cities in the Special Region of Yogyakarta Province.Findings – The results of this study show that IPM and the Gini Ratio have a significant and positive effect on the number of poor people. In contrast, TPT and Minimum Wage have a significant and negative impact on the number of poor people in Yogyakarta Special Region Province.Implication – The government is expected to be able to optimize development programs in the health, education and economic sectors which can provide direct benefits for the poor and maintain the policy of setting minimum wages. Originality – This study contributes to developing empirical studies on poverty in the Special Region of Yogyakarta Province using a panel data approach. AbstrakTujuan – Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh IPM, Rasio Gini, TPT dan Upah Minimum terhadap jumlah penduduk miskin di Provinsi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Metode – Penelitian ini menggunakan model data panel yang menggabungkan data time series tahun 2014-2023 dan data cross section pada 5 Kabupaten/Kota di Provinsi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta.Temuan – Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa IPM dan Rasio Gini berpengaruh signifikan dan positif terhadap jumlah penduduk miskin, sedangkan TPT dan Upah Minimum berpengaruh signifikan dan negatif terhadap jumlah penduduk miskin di Provinsi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Implikasi – Pemerintah diharapkan dapat mengoptimalkan program pembangunan pada bidang kesehatan, pendidikan, dan ekonomi yang dapat memberikan manfaat secara langsung bagi para penduduk miskin serta mempertahankan kebijakan penetapan upah minimum.Orisinalitas – Penelitian ini berkontibusi pada pengembangan kajian empiris tentang kemiskinan di Provinsi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta dengan menggunakan pendekatan data panel.
