Abstract

This article aims to compare the way a macroeconomic policy related with the control of exchange rates, in the 1990s as a recommendation of the International Economic Fund (IMF) and World Bank, had differently implementation processes and obtained different results in two countries of Latin America: Brazil and Argentina. That shows how the same prescription can carry a different prognosis.
