Inversión Extranjera Directa y evolución de las exportaciones: La experiencia peruana en el marco de APEC

Abstract

La presente investigación mide el impacto de la IED proveniente de economías APEC en las exportaciones totales del Perú. La importancia de resolver esta pregunta radica en que permitirá comprender efecto de la IED en la economía peruana a través de su capacidad exportadora, y así saber si se trata de inversiones que estimulan una industrialización orientada a la exportación. Para ello, se desarrolló un modelo econométrico de mínimos cuadrado ordinarios (OLS). Se utilizaron como fuentes las estadísticas de Proinversión, Ministerio de Comercio Exterior y Turismo (MINCETUR), Banco Central de Reserva, SUNAT, el Banco Mundial y StatsAPEC. Se pudo observar que a la IED proveniente de economías APEC tiene un efecto positivo sobre las exportaciones. De esa manera, un incremento de la IED proveniente de APEC en un millón de soles genera un aumento de 44,37 millones de soles en las exportaciones. No obstante, este efecto positivo presenta un rendimiento marginal decreciente a medida que se eleva el stock de inversión.
