La organización interna como arma estratégica: descentralización y delegación

Abstract

En este artículo analizamos la elección, por motivos estratégicos, de la forma en que se organiza una empresa en cuanto al grado de centralización de las decisiones de producción. Mostramos cómo la forma organizativa puede ser utilizada para disuadir la entrada de rivales o para modificar el grado de competencia en el mercado, conjuntamente con otros instrumentos como la delegación estratégica. Nuestros resultados indican que la descentralización utilizada como instrumento aislado dificulta la entrada de rivales mientras que la centralización la fomenta pero, combinada con el instrumento de la delegación estratégica, ambas formas de organización son posibles en equilibrio dependiendo del grado de sustituibilidad de los productos.
