Abstract

Desde una perspectiva comparada, en este artículo se analizan las nuevas dinámicas de relocalización industrial en México y Marruecos, usando como marco teórico la Teoría de la Economía Global Localizada (TEGL) y como marco analítico el à ndice de Relocalización Industrial (IRI), ambos formulados por Trinidad et al. (2015). El IRI (como modelo teórico) permite conocer qué ubicaciones son más ventajosas para las empresas transnacionales en sus estrategias por conseguir el “producto de éxito†con la menor incertidumbre posible. Para ello, se tienen en cuenta las cinco dimensiones que lo conforman: producto, trabajadores, legitimidad, distancia y demanda. Se observa cómo la economía global se localiza, entre otras, en dos regiones fronterizas: Tijuana (México) y Tánger-Tetuán (Marruecos) debido a su ubicación geoestratégica entre los lugares de producción y los lugares de consumo.
