Abstract

This paper estimates total factor productivity (TFP) at the sector level using panel data form the Moroccan industrial census in a production function framework during the period 1987-1996. Our results highlight the significant effect of human capital, opening and FDI on TFP. The distinction between weak and high technology industries enables us to confirm the existence of positive spillovers in the latter case and their absence in the former.
