Adverse childhood events and resilience strategies in adolescents

Abstract

This paper addresses a current topic, namely adverse events in childhood and resilience strategies in adolescence. Both childhood adverse events (ACE) and adolescent resilience, together, make a well-known, topical and much debated topic in today's society, both in the media and in specialized books. This topic is known worldwide and the implications it has on the healthy physical and mental development of adolescents are analyzed and debated all the time, adolescents only in their intimacy recognize the impact of traumatic events on their social, cultural development but and in the professional or personal field. There are a number of studies and research that focus on the resilience of adolescents following stressful events in childhood. My personal interest in this topic is that these adverse childhood events reveal an explanation that we can offer to people who have experienced such moments and have a more problematic behavioral, social and psychological development.
