Towards the end of the twentieth century, the democratic regime was established in our country, resulting in the absolute rejuvenation of the whole society and the opening of the road to a rule of law. Romanian police take one of the most important roles in maintaining the balance of society, public order and peace, respect for equality of rights, and the fundamental freedoms of citizens. Police law also requires the analysis of the legal situation, police personnel, rights and obligations that are part of the country's laws, the birth and termination of the service relationship and other perspectives related to the legal status of the civil servant working in the system of forces public police. The concept of "legal status" derives from the Latin "status" which designates the right attributes to obtain personality without which a person has no opportunity to exercise their rights in full. The legal status of the policeman comprises a system of personal and professional rights and obligations, granted by the function, according to the legal norms, in one of the structures of the police bodies, for the benefit of the community. Law no. 360/2002 imposes the passage of civilian policemen to civilian policing, police demilitarization being a step forward in dealing with criminality, qualified and responsible policing. The thirst for knowledge, as future local policemen, has led us to choose this theme to know what the Romanian Police are in the society.
