Abstract

The transmission characteristics of freestanding 1-D metallic gratings with rectangular lamels are studied numerically in a wide range of their sizes variations. Investigations were performed at frequencies from 75 to 350 GHz, for s-polarized incident electromagnetic waves. It is shown that obtained numerical data can be approximated by the simple analytical expression valid for different values of the grating period and metallization thicknesses from 10 to 50 mkm. Analytical data agree well with the results of numerical simulations and measurements.
