Abstract

In this paper, a novel implementation of convolution perfectly matched layer (CPML) is proposed for the multiresolution time-domain (MRTD) method. The implementation is completely independent of the host material and easier to obtain than that of the popularly used anisotropic perfectly matched layer, when treating more generalized media. The absorbing effectiveness of the CPML is discussed and validated in a two-dimensional case, and we apply the CPML in three-dimensional cases with different microwave circuit components. Numerical results show that the CPML performs well for absorbing electromagnetic waves in the MRTD scheme.
