Where Can Real Estate Faculty Add the Most Value at Universities in the Future?

Abstract

This article suggests ways to enhance real estate faculty value to university students in light of present technological, social and educational trends. Following a review of these trends, a scenario for future higher education is discussed in terms of how it addresses the generally accepted goals of education. After discussing attractive aspects of this scenario within the context of the relevant literature, common characteristics of recent innovations in college of business education are reviewed. Following this, four suggestions are offered for how real estate faculty might offer the greatest value to university business education in the future. Lastly, three levels of real estate and college of business education are differentiated and insights offered.
